John R. Lundquist, President & CEO
John has 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. John has embraced executive management positions with Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Specialty Pharmacy Distribution Companies, Fortune 50 Wholesaler Drug Companies, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and has management expertise across various “Classes of Trade” including: Acute Care / Hospital IDNs, Specialty Pharmacy operations, Long Term Care / Assisted Living / Institutional and Retail Pharmacy logistics and operations. In addition to founding HIG, John directed a national Specialty/Biotech Distribution enterprise and has done groundbreaking design work on ACO Networks and Patient Outcome reporting for Acute Care facilities. A practiced strategist and negotiator, he is recognized for pioneering new business strategies and partnerships that create solutions for the specialty pharmaceutical and hospital supply chains and retail enterprises. He has held Executive Management positions with AmerisourceBergen Corporation, HD Smith Drug Wholesaler, Fujisawa USA, Armada Healthcare, and Managed Healthcare Associates (MHA).
Steven Rube, M.D., F.A.A.F.P., Chief Medical Officer and Advisor to the President
is a board certified family physician. He serves as the Lead Clinical Terminologist at Intelligent Medical Objects, an interface terminology company. He maintains the largest clinical terminology database in the world, along with data content creation, editorial enhancements, structural maintenance, analytics, and tool development; his data base allows clinicians to use terminology efficiently in real world settings. Steve has held positions as Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President for a healthcare software companies that are recognized as best of breed medical software company with specialization in EHR solutions for hospitals, emergency department, inpatient, and ambulatory settings. His leadership roles include product development teams, project management teams, company operations and clinical liaison to technical staff. As CMO, he managed the company’s process to gain ONC Meaningful Use Certification for Stage One and Stage Two and mapped medical terminology for various external vocabularies including, ICD-9, ICD-10, SMOMED, RxNorm, LOINC, First Databank, and others. He is a public speaker on topics including physician adoption and the merging of the clinical and IT realms. As Hospital CMIO he supervised the implementation of a complete EHR. The project started in the emergency department, was extended to the inpatient setting, and eventually to the outpatient clinics. Full CPOE and physician documentation boasting 100% physician and nursing participation, resulting in the full interfaced of clinical documentation/CPOE system with the hospital’s core HIS and other disparate products via HL7 or scripted interfaces. Physician and nursing adoption and the mapping of clinical language for CPOE interfacing followed.
Dan Skalecki, RPh, Executive Vice President, HIG
has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has held a number of senior level management positions in pharmaceutical drug wholesaling, pharmaceutical manufacturing, home infusion, national group purchasing, and pharmaceutical waste management. He has broad pharmacy practice experience, in hospital, long-term care and retail pharmacy and has served on numerous professional and pharmaceutical industry advisory boards. His diverse background has enabled him to assist many healthcare professionals in the development and management of innovative and cost-effective programs and systems required in today’s dynamic healthcare environment. Mr. Skalecki holds a degree in pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison’s School of Pharmacy.
Amr Hillal RPh, Senior Vice President, Business Development, RxAlliance
has over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Amr has pharmacy practice expertise in retail, long-term care facilities, and group purchasing organizations. He has created a niche in advising/consulting with various retail and long-term facilities in the development and management new revenue streams. Amr owns and directs a chain of retail pharmacies in the North East. Amr holds a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from Long Island University.
